We just opened Core G a few weeks ago(World History Part 1) and the kids flipped when they saw "Mystery of the Roman Ransom" because we had just finished "Detectives in Togas" (for the second time). Needless to say, we picked it up and read it as a read-aloud right away....so much for following the schedule :)

Charlotte's Web! It's one of my favorites. But really, every book looks wonderful. I can't wait to start.

I can never narrow it down. I do have favorites I'm waiting waiting waiting on until my boys get up to high school (To Kill a Mockingbird...) but each year I find new books I love and am excited to share.

This year I was most surprised by Story of the World which my oldest handed to his 10 yr old brother and said, "You have to read this! I mean, it's a history book, but it's GOOD!" Now I find myself trying to get it away from him (at 13 he reads his own history) so I can read it....
