Sonlight's Annual Photo Contest is Happening NOW!
Submission are open now through May 31, 2026.
We love celebrating our Sonlight families! Send us your best photos for a chance to be featured on the cover of our 2027 catalog. The top 3 finalists will also receive a $500 Sonlight credit, along with the opportunity to be featured inside the catalog and across future Sonlight marketing initiatives.
Show us how you Sonlight! Whether it’s cozy read-aloud moments at home or traveling across the US in an RV, memorable field trips, hands-on learning experiences, or the everyday moments that make your homeschool unique, we want to see your story come to life.

Photo Tips
We're looking for photos of all types,
especially candid moments that capture the heart of your homeschool days
You don't need anything staged or professionally styled. In fact, we love photos that feel natural and real.
Here's what we like to see:
- Authentic photos capturing the real life of a homeschool family.
- Faces are visible and expressions feel warm and engaged
- The lighting is clear and bright (natural light is wonderful!)
- The moment feels joyful, peaceful, or meaningful
- Photos in both Portrait and Landscape are accepted. However, portrait style photos are typically best for the cover of the catalog. And remember to leave some background space for the catalog title. (We don't want to cover up anyone's beautiful faces!)
Think: everyday moments, beautifully captured.
Tell the Story Behind Your Photo
Your photo captures a moment—but your story brings it to life.
When you share a photo, we'd love for you to include a short description or testimonial that helps us understand what's happening and why it matters to your family.
Tells us things like:
- What's happening in this moment?
- Why is or was it meaningful or memorable?
- How has learning with Sonlight impacted your family?
Example from a 2025 winner:
Rebecca R of Slinger, WI, says, “Sonlight unlocked a world for our family where all the kids read together and share what they are learning. Through good, interesting books, we make memories together. In this completely unstaged moment, my second oldest daughter, Claire (13), jumped in to help by reading the preschool curriculum books for the day to her youngest sibling, Arthur (5). With five kids, all using different years of Sonlight, he is often the last to go and most of the time his older brother, Alexander (7, also in the photo), joins in the fun, too."

Whether your student is wrapping up their first year homeschooling, or you have a high school student finishing their last year of Sonlight—we want to see those graduation pictures! - Then and Now
Show us your Sonlight journey through the years! Share then-and-now photos of your kids learning with Sonlight at different levels and stages along the way. We’d love to see how your family (and your homeschool) has grown over time.

Here’s how to share your photos for consideration in our contest:
Take a quality photo of your family learning with Sonlight.
Write a compelling story about your experience with Sonlight.
Login to your Sonlight.com account and navigate to the Photos/Testimonials tab and submit.
*By submitting your photos, you are accepting the Assignment of Rights and providing Sonlight with permission to share your photos in our printed materials and on our website and social media platforms.
