"Without Sonlight, we never would have had this God moment!" writes Jessica S of Etna, OH. "We met this lovely lady in the airport while traveling. She is Haitian and speaks French and Creole. She was engaging with the kids, and they were fascinated to know she was from another country! I asked if she wouldn't mind sharing some words with my kids, so she began teaching them different words in French and Creole. We mentioned a missionary family we know serving Haiti, and she was thrilled to know we were Christians. Emery (9) talked about Catching Their Talk in a Box and missionaries we've learned about. How cool is that?" In the photo: Emery (9), Liam (7), and Aubrey (5) with their new Haitian friend.
"Sonlight Readers helped my children learn to read with more giggles than tears," says Ruth L of Postville, IA. "There are books that inspire laughter, some that bring tears, some that inspire art, and some that inspire a snack break! Sharing these stories is one of our favorite things about Sonlight. We are falling more in love with the literature Sonlight chooses every year!" Pictured, Bailey (6) and Riley (7) share some of their favorite read-alouds.The L's have been Sonlighting for three years.
"Sonlight has helped us create a new family culture around fantastic literature. We love having amazing books for our kids to read. We now live in a country [Fiji] where books are not readily available, libraries are sparse and there are very few stores with children's books available. The Read-Alouds became our family entertainment and provided something routine and rich for our family as we transitioned into life overseas [as missionaries for Youth With a Mission]. We're so grateful for the quality, depth and worldview Sonlight provides. The excitement of having great stories at our fingertips has moulded our family into lifelong learners!" "Sonlight's flexibility allowed us to do school together, despite the differences in my kids' ages," writes Rachel B. of Weatherford, TX. "We just finished our first year homeschooling two children, and I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was! James (5) was eager to jump into the History / Bible / Literature program Elizabeth (8) was using. Anne (2) got a kick out of 'supervising' her older siblings with me!" Elizabeth, James and Anne pose with all their Sonlight Read-Alouds.

First in a classic series about a kind-hearted boy and his lovable friends in late '50s middle America.
Delightfully entertaining.
Great stories are a ton of fun. They also provide opportunities to talk about real life issues. This title is no exception. Give your children the gift of a great tale in your 1st Grade or History / Bible / Literature B package. Travel back over half a century and catch a glimpse of what life was like. Plus, learn a lot of new vocabulary as you read together.
