If you have a website or blog, you can earn money by promoting Sonlight's literature-based homeschool curriculum on your site. Simply put an affiliate banner or link on your site and you could start earning commissions immediately.
As an Affiliate, every time you send us a customer from your site, you will earn 4% of what they then purchase from Sonlight.
The Sonlight Affiliates Program is free and easy to use. Once you become an Affiliate through Commission Junction you'll simply place a special link on your website that contains your unique Affiliate ID.
Each time a visitor clicks one of these links you will earn a 4% commission for anything they then purchase from our website. We'll answer their questions, fulfill their order and provide them the same quality service we give all our customers. We'll do the hard work while you kick back and reap the rewards.
Once you get started with Commission Junction, you'll be able to quickly and easily find out how much money you're earning with our real-time sales reports. Plus, you'll be able to change your personal information and track your sales through Commission Junction.
Commission Junction will send you a check if your earnings total more than $100 (with direct deposit you can make that $50). That's money you can use for anything you want! It's our way of saying, "Thank you!" for promoting Sonlight.
Anyone with a website/blog and a legitimate passion to promote Sonlight can be an Affiliate. Our program is open to customers, previous customers, non-customers... it doesn't matter. Our intention is to reward those people who have something positive to say about Sonlight Curriculum and who will put that message on their websites for others to find.
It's that simple. After you're accepted, you'll receive an introductory email that welcomes you to the program.
When you first arrive at Commission Junction's website it can be pretty confusing. It took me a while to figure out where to go.
Step 1: Register. Click the "Sign up today" button found on this page: http://www.cj.com/publisher-sign
Step 2: Fill out the required information.
Step 3: Wait for your confirmation email. (Check your Junk Folder if you don't see it soon.)
Step 4: Search for "Sonlight" in your Get Links tab.
Step 5: Check the box next to Sonlight and click one of the "Apply to Program" buttons.
Step 6: Close the popup window. You will have to wait until our Affiliate Manager approves your site. This could take up to a week.
In the meantime...
Step 7: Edit your Account Tax Information. Commission Junction needs this to pay you the commissions you earn.
Once your site has been approved as a Sonlight Affiliate:
Step 8: Get Links to put on your site. You'll want to be in the By Relationship tab for quick access.
Step 9: View the links Sonlight has already created for you.
Step 10: Find a banner or link you like. Then click: Get HTML.
Step 11: Copy the code and paste it onto your site or blog. I do recommend that you check the boxes that make the link open in a new window and hide the tracking information. These are certainly not required, but they make for a nicer browsing experience for your visitors.
If you need technical assistance, please call Commission Junction: 800-761-1072If you have questions about Sonlight's Affiliate program, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Nice looking graphics on the side of your site are nice, but they aren't nearly as effective as a well-written post that describes why you like a specific product. You will get much more as an Affiliate if you take the time to write about why you love and recommend your visitors buy a product for themselves.
So how do you do it?
Step 1: Get HTML for the custom text link Your words and a product link.
Step 2: Choose the product/page you want to link to. You will notice that the URL is initially set for sonlight.com.
If I want to send people to the Discover & Do bundle (item #SS07), I put in the new URL:
Step 3: Press "Update Link Code" and you will see that SS07.html has been added to the code:
Step 4: Edit the wording. The words in blue below are text that surrounds your link. The yellow is the link itself.
In this case, I'm going to change the text so it reads:
I love the Discover & Do DVDs!
Step 5: Finalize & Copy. I recommend you check the "Set link to open a new browser window" and "Hide tracking code in link" options. Once you have the link exactly how you want it, copy the code and paste it onto your blog or site. [Notice that, by selecting those two options, the code has become even more convoluted. This isn't a problem for computers, but it does make it harder to work with the code... so save checking those boxes for last.]
