The gloves provide substantial protection against sharp objects and harmful chemicals. The gloves are only 4mm thick, but they resist punctures more than natural rubber or vinyl disposable gloves of similar thickness. Also, as a built-in safety feature, the gloves readily tear once they have been punctured so that you'll know immediately when the glove should be replaced.
