Many children celebrate Independence Day without ever fully understanding the courage, sacrifice, and ideas that shaped America’s story.
Students will follow the journey from colonies to country as they explore the events leading up to the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Along the way, they’ll encounter influential figures, wrestle with important questions about freedom and responsibility, and reflect on how faith and character shape the choices we make.
The Digital Guide includes a 4-week schedule with Activity Sheets and optional hands-on activities. Each day's required assignments take approximately 15–30 minutes to complete, with additional time needed if you choose to complete the optional, more in-depth projects. The schedule can be adjusted based on the number of optional hands-on activities you decide to complete.
This unit study helps children connect the celebration of Independence Day with the history behind it in a meaningful and memorable way.
