Ari is an 11-year-old boy with a gift for music. By translating his early travels around Europe with his mother into pieces of music, Ari grows to realize that life is composed of many kinds of journeys, and accepting those journeys is part of finding your place in the world.
This first-person account of a year in a musically gifted boy's life unfolds through a patchwork of flashbacks, e-mails, and narrative. Through changes and losses, the boy learns to honor the present, as well as memories of the past, through his music.
