Create Salt Dough Ornaments
One Christmas as a child, Sonlight Mentor & Marketing Coordinator, Johna Lawrence had just moved, and all the family Christmas ornaments were lost. The solution? Her mom put together salt dough for the family to shape, paint and make ornaments for their tree. Johna’s family had some very traditional and untraditional ornaments, including a plate of meatballs and spaghetti. For over 40 years, her family looked forward to seeing those ornaments on the tree. Her family moved often, so typical traditions were difficult for the family to keep. But the salt dough ornaments were one of the best parts of putting up their family Christmas tree each year.

A Christmas Blessing
As hectic as this season can be, when we pause to try and wrap our minds around the idea of Emmanuel, God with us, heaven come down to earth, our family gets the best gift we can offer: a sense of wonder and awe.
Imagine with me the scene from Luke 2: the shepherds have told everyone what they witnessed in the stable and ...
All who heard the shepherds’ story were astonished,
But Mary kept all these things in her heart and thought about them often.
Luke 2:18-19
What an amazing thought and a wonderful gift: Jesus come to earth. He became man to show us the Father.
May you be blessed and grateful for this season, and for the reason that we celebrate. May your time with family be filled with celebration and joy.
Merry Christmas!
