Sonlight is not just our curriculum, it's our connection as a family. This was our first year with Sonlight, and let me just say, we LOVE it! Since our children are close in age, it has been such a blessing to combine them into the same Core. It has been so much fun to watch the close bond develop between them over the past year. With quality pieces of literature, the stories come to life! These shared experiences have developed a love of learning that will last a lifetime. And for that, my heart is thankful. We love Sonlight because it teaches our children to think critically about what they are learning. It challenges them to carefully consider the worldview that the media and many of their friends hold. They are learning that the biblical worldview is supported by science (among other subjects) and they are learning how to defend their faith. Sonlight also breaks us free from the 'school at home' mindset by allowing a more relaxed learning environment and encouraging discussion rather than completing lots of worksheets. Thanks Sonlight! We always encourage homeschoolers to try Sonlight and see what a refreshing change happens within your family. We are often asked how we got our kids to get along and love each other so well. Many won't understand unless they have taken the Sonlight path of homeschooling. Sonlight has developed a tight bond between siblings. They often compare what they study and read in Sonlight's curriculum, which sparks debates or excited chatter over suspenseful stories. We have many memories over the years of listening to books curled up on our cushy sofa. Here, Dad helps Paris (15), Tristan (14) and Nakita (12) collect water samples for a Biology experiment. They're studying Cores F and 100 in their family's eleventh year of Sonlight.
