It was a relief to find a curriculum that had already compiled the best of the best. Before Sonlight, I made so many trips to the library to find books that enforced our learning, often to be disappointed with the selections. We love spending time together while using the Sonlight approach of living books to teach history and culture. Here, it had been raining for days and days when my daughter built a blanket fort and snuggled up with her book, Pippi Longstocking. Before long her brother joined her, and then Daddy came home. Beyla (7) and Ozzie (6) are enjoying their first year of Sonlight.

In the beginning, I pulled from different places to teach and always felt like I was missing something. Sonlight has everything laid out, so I can spend more time enjoying the learning process with my girls instead of stressing that they're not getting the whole story. We especially love the Read-Alouds, the highlight of our day. It's not uncommon for me to start reading while they lounge about, before they're drawn in and fully focused on the story, asking questions and discussing. 'I wonder what will happen to Charlotte?', my youngest pondered as we read Charlotte's Web [from Core B]. I'm so glad we found you! Emily (8) and Katie (6) are studying Core B in their second year of Sonlight.
