"Core 400 was an excellent ending to our students' Sonlight experience. More than all the other courses, it taught them to think critically about the material they come across in daily life. They learned not only the facts of our government, but to analyze information they receive regarding government. Yes, the course is rigorous. The text that is the spine for the core is a challenging one. I felt, however, that it was very good preparation for college level work. I would not recommend it for students below 12th grade, age 17 or 18 (unless they are academically advanced, highly motivated and interested in the subject) because of the difficulty of the material. I would also not recommend it for a student's first experience with Sonlight or first time using an upper core."
