Newcomer P4/5 Explore God's World

We just finished this core, my daughter LOVED it! She is just turning 5 and it filled in some gaps to get ready for K. Her vocabulary has expanded and her attention span has increased as a result of going through this core! My son (2.5) was able to participate somewhat as well. She is now ready to dive into K, I am happy that we chose to do this core before core K. I have a feeling we will will be with Sonlight for a long time!!!

I did this core with my daughter a couple of years ago now and it was great! It was so relaxed and she loved the amount of stuff she got to do in it too...

I have to say I was super excited to get my daughter started in Sonlight. Unfortunately I was very disappointed with this core. My daughter does not enjoy it at all and every day school has become difficult. Last year we did a free program and she loved it so you can imagine how upsetting it was when we paid the money for this one and she doesn't enjoy it. I was suprised it received such high ratings on this page but in the forums people are not thrilled with it. Maybe you should read the forums before you purchase this core. I do not know if I will be ordering from Sonlight again although I was so excited about Sonlight, I'm disappointed.

I purchased this, along with Readers K and LA K (because I didn't want to miss out on 1st 1000 Words and ABC by Suess), for my 4 and 6 year old, for their 1st grade and K year. It was a wonderful year, and a great introduction to Sonlight. I plan on keeping this Core so that the grandchildren can enjoy it someday, and in the meantime, my crew still loves it.

My son loves this core !! He is just 3, but is really getting a lot out of it. He wants to read the stories over and over. Berenstain book of Science and Nature is by far his favorite. The two new books, Uncle Wiggily's and The Classic Tales of Brer Rabbit are a bit difficult for him. I luckily have the older Treasury of Little Golden Books too. We do plan to go through it a second time adding in the newer books before moving on. In my opinion this core is a must have for little ones !!

I purchased this core as a trial run to see how, not only my son would do with home school, but if I could actually home school. I was so impressed. The whole family enjoyed this core. My 4/5 year old son, my 1 year old daughter and us parents. We have about 8 weeks left. The Instructor's Guide made this such a breeze. Kept me on track. I added handwriting and math to it. My son would ask for school and some times we read things over and over because he loved it so much. I highly recommend. Can't wait for Core K!! I do see that one book we loooooved is not included any more; A Family Treasury of Little Golden Books. That's a shame, it was a great book.

My daughters (ages 2.5 and 4.5) and I are enjoying this entire program. The books are interesting and thought provoking. They continue to be sad after we finish a book and want to read it again and again.

We are enjoying this Core with our 5 yr. old and a special needs 7 yr. old. We love the stories and the pace, not too slow or fast. Even my 8 and 10 year old boys like to listen in on some of the stories :) Its alot of fun!

We're doing this core with our almost-4 & 5 year old children. They (as do Daddy & Mommy!) enjoy the stories with few exceptions. We purchased this last year when the Bible was different, and that was probably the biggest complaint we have. The biggest issue we have is the kids wanting to read more than is alloted in a day or even a week!

We LOVE this core! We did it with my dd when she was 4 and are doing it again with her now that she is 5 and my ds is 4. She's loving it all over again! I've added the books that I didn't have the first time around, so there is some variety for her and for me! :) We are really enjoying our times each morning, snuggling on the couch and learning together! I can't wait to be able to do it again in a couple of years with the 3 year old and 2 year old that we are adopting!
