Another very good choice for this core! My older daughter ( 5 in a few days) especially enjoys this one, but just fine for the younger ones too!

Out of the 3 fairy/nursery tales books in p3/4 this one is the least requested. Maybe my 3.5yo isn't old enough to catch the humour in 'Emperor's New Clothes', or isn't really into make-believe... Otherwise this is another great collection of Hans Christian Andersen's Fairy Tales.

My daughters ages 3 and 5 absolutely love this book. It is often requested.

This is our hands-down, favorite book of fairy tales. Every child needs to be familiar with these classic stories and this book presents them in a fresh, fun way. The illustrations are spectacular! Thanks to the (tasteful) pictures, my 4 year old daughter finally gets the joke in The Emperor's New Clothes. We plan to share this book with several cousins for Christmas.

Felt uncomfortable reading these to my child since these stories feel out of date with how we communicate with our children today. No longer do stories about children being kidnapped or in arranged marriages to rodents seem entertaining or appropriate to me.

Our favorite of the fairy tales books included in Core A. The illustrations are humorous and the stories are wonderful, of course. Includes The Wild Swans, Dan the Dunce, The Emperor's New Clothes, The Flying Trunk, The Ugly Duckling, The Little Tin Soldier, The Nightingale, and Thumbelina. My daughter loved everything but The Nightingale.
