Dear Sonlight Curriculum,

My son, a sixth grader, has struggled with reading from the start. That had a ripple effect. It meant he couldn't keep up in any of his subjects--math, science, history, anything. He would come home wondering if he was "stupid."

In every other way, he is a bright, motivated, and hard-working child, but after years of not being able to keep up in reading, his confidence was shot and he was afraid even to try.

I was desperate. I tried everything: thousands of dollars of products, tutors, special classes.... Nothing helped.

Six months ago I got the Sonlight® Remedial Reading Program. During the ensuing months, I have seen his confidence rise with each story he completed in I Can Read It. And that allowed him to try reading things he would have totally ignored before. A few days ago, I found him reading a difficult instruction manual! (I had to look twice to make sure I hadn't mistaken him for his older brother!)

But here's why I'm writing. Yesterday, his reading specialist (a 30-year professional) called me: "I don't know what he is doing in this remedial reading class. He should be in a regular class."

Needless to say, after struggling with this issue for six years, these words brought tears of joy and prayers of praise. I can't tell you how grateful I am for learning about these tools. I wish I had found them years ago!

I purchased this program to use as a remedial reading program for my 7 year old son. The Phono-Graphix method is so easy to use and much less confusing than the other reading programs I've found. I like Reading Reflex so much that I am going to use it, instead of Ordinary Parents Guide to Teaching Reading, to teach my 4 year old how to read.

Dear Sonlight, I have struggled for a few years trying to help my son understand words. Now he is reading, thanks to this wonderful tool you have provided!!!! My daughter is also doing wonderful with her reading. She is five and at a perfect age for starting this program. My son is 7, and I wish I had this when he was five. He is so happy he can read!!!
