Excruciatingly boring. Sorry, it does seem everyone else gave this book rave reviews but I can't seem to get my preschooler interested in this one and it is probably one of the most boring books I have ever had to endure.

My 5 yr old son and I love this book. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone younger, since the stories are longer and not as many pictures. But my son would play with a quiet toy while I read to him and he would interrupt and ask questions as he listened. The stories are sweet and original. I'm glad this was included in the core.

I'm so glad this book was included in this core. I've never heard of it before and so it was a treat to read it as an adult. My 6 year old really, really enjoys it and always wants to read many more than one chapter. My 4 year old doesn't really get a lot of it but still listens with us and asks enough questions to follow along.

When I started reading this book to my rough and tumble four year old boy, I figured it wasn't going to fly. Wrong! He requests it. "Can we please read another Milly Molly Mandy story?" I think he likes that she is a helper and gets to do lots of fun things.

Review by Drinnon, nearly 6: "I like Milly Molly Mandy because it is fun. Because she goes lots of places for her parents and buys some gifts."

Despite living in a different time, Milly Molly Mandy is a kid like any other who delights in simple adventures. When I read it, my 4yo ds would lose interest (hence my 4 stars), and I would stop reading. Then, my 9yo ds would pipe up, "Mom! I want to hear how it ends!" For myself, I enjoyed it.

To my surprise and delight my 8 year old, 4 year old and 3 year old have asked me to read and re-read all of the stories in this book. The sentences and descriptions are a little longer than your typical children's book and there are very few pictures, but this has not stopped this book from becoming a favorite among my children. They love the delightful stories, and I love the old fashioned morals and ethics taught. I would say this is definitely more of a girl's story, though.

Not one that my three boys enjoyed. More of a girls story.

I wasn't sure my children would like this one, as it seems very old-fashioned, plus I didn't know if my 4yo was ready for a long chapter-book yet. This is consistently the one that is asked for first by my 4yo and 7yo girls. They are absolutely captivated by this book, and want a new chapter read to them far more often than is scheduled in the IG. Too bad there aren't more in the series at our library! I guess we'll just get to the end and start over again; the girls won't mind a bit. Milly-Molly-Mandy is happy, innocent, and obedient, so what's not to like?

This book is one of my favorites. I have always loved the story of Milly Molly Mandy and her adventures. A+ goes to Sonlight for including this book!
