A family staple since 1928. This collection of 21 classic adventures, complete with original art by the author, is a “window to a simpler time,” and still delights all ages.

Despite living in a different time, Milly Molly Mandy is a kid like any other who delights in simple adventures. When I read it, my 4yo ds would lose interest (hence my 4 stars), and I would stop reading. Then, my 9yo ds would pipe up, "Mom! I want to hear how it ends!" For myself, I enjoyed it.

To my surprise and delight my 8 year old, 4 year old and 3 year old have asked me to read and re-read all of the stories in this book. The sentences and descriptions are a little longer than your typical children's book and there are very few pictures, but this has not stopped this book from becoming a favorite among my children. They love the delightful stories, and I love the old fashioned morals and ethics taught. I would say this is definitely more of a girl's story, though.

Not one that my three boys enjoyed. More of a girls story.

I wasn't sure my children would like this one, as it seems very old-fashioned, plus I didn't know if my 4yo was ready for a long chapter-book yet. This is consistently the one that is asked for first by my 4yo and 7yo girls. They are absolutely captivated by this book, and want a new chapter read to them far more often than is scheduled in the IG. Too bad there aren't more in the series at our library! I guess we'll just get to the end and start over again; the girls won't mind a bit. Milly-Molly-Mandy is happy, innocent, and obedient, so what's not to like?

This book is one of my favorites. I have always loved the story of Milly Molly Mandy and her adventures. A+ goes to Sonlight for including this book!

Kaitlyn my 5 yr old LOVES this book. The first night I was thinking this is not going to be good, way to long and she will want to go onto something else. HA HA boy was I wrong, she wanted me to keep on reading. I ended up reading story 1 and 2 in the same night, she is just 5 1/2 and loves this book. I actually really enjoy it also, really a good book.
I have told a friend of ours about this book she also has a 5 1/2 yr old, she went and bought it for a good bit more at a book store plusit had to be ordered not in stock. If i would have know i could get it from Sonlight for her as just a single book i would have saved her at least 5 bucks.

I was skeptical about this book when we first received it because it has so few pictures and is quite long (I thought) for a 3 year old BUT my daughter loves it!

I find this book to be dated in its concepts (yes, sometimes that is a good thing, though that doesn't hold true in this particular book) and difficult to read. My least favorite is the way Milly-Molly-Mandy calls her parents "Muvver" and "Favver". However, my almost 6 year old is absolutely taken with this book - it is probably her favorite book from this year, which is why I gave this book the three stars that I did.

This is one of our favorites that stayed out on the shelf for years and was only just recently packed away in a box to save for grandchildren (and my dd is 12!) Milly-Molly-Mandy lives with her parents, aunt and uncle, and grandparents in that happy time of long-ago childhood. A fun read-aloud, it even comes with a neighborhood map so you can follow along on all her adventures.
