Hang this 23" x 34" Modified Robinson Projection map on a wall for easy reference, or fold flat (smaller than 12" x 12") and take it with you. With the world on one side, the U.S.A. on the other, this map shows you a lot of detail, including major political boundaries and rivers. Laminated surface lets you mark your map with grease pencils or water-based markers. A Required Resource in every Sonlight Core program from K—300. As a final exam in Geography, I told my daughter to label a list of places on the Markable Map (which I think is one of the BEST tools I've ever seen!!). She was finishing the 50 states and she asked if we would use the map next year. I told her she would use it until she graduated from high school. She was so excited. We left all of her work on the map so she could show her Daddy when he got home. Who would have ever guessed that a big laminated map and a pack of erasable pens would be such a motivator?! We just received this map and I was SO DISAPPOINTED! It is way to small to label anything. The white space around the outside is a waste. Even when the kids write in their tinest letters, you can't tell what country, river etc. they are referring to, because their writing spills into the next country, river etc. I would definitely not recommend getting this map as it does not accomplish it's purpose. I would send it back for a refund, but I live overseas, so the postage cost would not be worth the refund. Sure hope Sonlight can come up with a more quality map that matches their curriculum! It is a good idea, just not followed through correctly.

We love this map and enjoy using it. No it does not include every lake and river, and probably should not be the only map you use. However, it is a wonderful learning tool as the kids enjoy labeling each place they study and making their own notes throughout the year. It's simplicity makes it less intimidating for younger students. We have used the old B&W version for Core K through Core 2 and have found it convenient, helpful, durable, and enjoyable. Would love to have this new color version, but how can I replace the old one when it still looks like new?

This is a great map, but we stopped using it regularly after Core 1, preferring our table map under vinyl. We'd LOVE a similar map of Canada, please!
