The maps have been great tools. But, we are now on Core 6 and almost exclusively use Google Earth even though we have a REALLY slow internet connection here in Uganda. I think the big map is becoming less and less useful. I still have the black and white and will not be buying the color map.

It is a small world map. What even worse for me is: it has a major mistake about coloring China and Taiwan in the same color. Taiwan is not part of China. I definitly CANNOT using this map teaching my kids.

We just received this map and I was SO DISAPPOINTED! It is way to small to label anything. The white space around the outside is a waste. Even when the kids write in their tinest letters, you can't tell what country, river etc. they are referring to, because their writing spills into the next country, river etc. I would definitely not recommend getting this map as it does not accomplish it's purpose. I would send it back for a refund, but I live overseas, so the postage cost would not be worth the refund. Sure hope Sonlight can come up with a more quality map that matches their curriculum! It is a good idea, just not followed through correctly.

I also agree that a map of Canada would be a great option.

A detailed map of Canada would be GREAT!

We love this map and enjoy using it. No it does not include every lake and river, and probably should not be the only map you use. However, it is a wonderful learning tool as the kids enjoy labeling each place they study and making their own notes throughout the year. It's simplicity makes it less intimidating for younger students. We have used the old B&W version for Core K through Core 2 and have found it convenient, helpful, durable, and enjoyable. Would love to have this new color version, but how can I replace the old one when it still looks like new?

I like the new, foldable map. I owned it before it could fold and it was tough to store.

It is handy that it folds, but my daughter can't always figure out HOW to fold it. I like that we can erase it and start over each year. BUT: there are some quality issues. Some rivers are incomplete, and some lakes are missing. Having only one lake in western New York where there ought to be 10 or 12 Finger Lakes is really annoying! And those who know other parts of the country (and world) better might have their own examples, too.

The quality of the map is good, but we did not get to use it. We find using a regular map much easier.

This is a great map, but we stopped using it regularly after Core 1, preferring our table map under vinyl. We'd LOVE a similar map of Canada, please!
