My son really loves these books. He doesn't really enjoy learning how to write his letters. But these make it a fun process for him. I found them to be simple and was worried he would be incredibly bored with it. But it is his favorite part of Language Arts. So just to have them for him to enjoy learning is worth it!

I cannot imagine trying to teach LA to my kids without these books. They have really helped me train my kids ears for the beginning sounds of letters. They were really struggling with this before I purchased these books (4 weeks into the curriculum). We quickly caught up because the lessons are short but very, very good. The only problem I see is the books go in a different order than Sonlight's K LA program, but we just skipped over the "questions" that dealt with letters we haven't learned yet (very few). I highly recommend buying these, especially if you are worried about teaching LA (like I was). I would recommend to get the Teacher's Guide to go with it.

These books are excellent. In my opinion, they should be considered a required part of the curriculum, rather than optional. These book contain humorous lessons to help make learning fun. They are black and white, which helps keep children from being too distracted. The books also include writing (printing) and make a good supplement to a writing program. The lessons and exercises are well-designed to reinforce learning in a variety of ways. Some of the graphics were hard to figure out at first look, but by checking out the other pages in the lessons, it was easy to figure out the word the image was supposed to represent. These books are a stand along phonics program on their own.

These books are great for my 5 1/2 year old. The workbooks are repetitive enough to build her confidence without boring her. I would consider these books essential for a beginner.

Fantastic !!! After teaching three older children phonics and not really caring for the different things we used. I have finally found the best phonics program. We definitely plan to finish the series !

PERFECT!!! Our son is finishing book C tomorrow and is READING! It's been a great year with these books. I strongly recommend using Go for the Code books A, B, and C AND the teacher's guide.

This is a fantastic program. I have used it as stand alone for phonics and both my little ones have taken off like a shot with reading. Definitely add these to your LA purchase. So worth it!
