5 out of 5 stars by AMANDA P on 2010-04-18
My dd 5 calls this her "favorite school book" short and to the point with wonderful illustrations, what she has learned sticks in her mind! We also try to do the hands on projects and she LOVES this!

A good variety of information, however there is quite a bit on evolution (cave man era) that needs to be explained by parent.

How many days are we going to read about people's clothing? My son is not enjoying this book very much. I think it is a good introduction to different eras but it seems to detailed.

We loved learning about how people lived and often compared it to our lifestyle now. We had a good concept of the different eras. Wonderful book!

Both of my kids that have done this core would alway beg me to read more of this one. When Daddy got home from work, this is the book they would pull out to show him what they had done in school. We love this one here.

Our daughter did not care for this book. In fact it is the only Usborne book she has ever rejected. On the flip side I think it is great as it introduces your child to the great civilizations of the world.

Great book to introduce children to how things have changed throughout the years. My children have been fascinated with it and went through the book repeatedly. I learned a lot of stuff I didn't know. Lots of pictures to hold the intended age group's attention (Core C).

My children loved this book, especially my son. On our shelves for years, it has been read over and over again.
