Theras and His Town by Caroline Dale Snedeker is an amazing book! It's easy to understand and paints a wonderful picture of ancient Anthens and Sparta. The author uses an Athenian boy who loves and appreciates everything. When Theras goes to Sparta, he faces their brutal and uncivilized ways. Theras is disgusted by the Spartans and longs for beautiful Athens. He relys on the goddess Athena tho bring him home safely. With his new friends and help from others, Theras starts home! How will Theras do it? A perilous journey awaits him; he's waiting for you! So jump into action with Theras and His Town! by: Lauren H.

Theras and His Town by Caroline Dale Snedeker is a great book. It shows how much different Athens and Sparta really were. It was a very easy read but very good.

Liked it. Old fashioned but an easy read once we started. Great comparison of Athens and Sparta which all seem the same to us in the U.S. until we read this story!

What a fun story! An excellent contrast of ancient Athens and Sparta, from the perspective of one who lived in both. My children will definitely remember Theras' adventures, and why Spartans had their tough reputation!
