My family did not like this book at all. I know I personally would enjoy it but it seemed very difficult for the kids to understand. I did it with 5th-8th graders and all 3 of them really struggled with this book. With all of the other things that are new in this Core, it was very difficult to make my kids do this one too.

My son loved this book and we both learned so much (like how Hebrew poetry works)! He enjoyed doing the hands-on activities. I plan on using it with my other boys in a year or so. One caveat is that I found the answer section of the teacher's guide to be difficult to use. But overall packed with learning!

After 6 years of using Sonlight this is the first book that we have decided not to use at all. We worked on it for the first 9 weeks, but my son was frustrated each and every time he had to do the work. It made him begin to really dislike his Bible time which is the last thing we would ever want. He was completely capable of doing the work, but felt like it was so time consuming, and just busy work. We have switched to a Bible study book for kids by Kay Arthur, and he is really enjoying his Bible studies again.

We love "Remembering God's Awesome Acts!" It is by far the most comprehensive Bible study I have ever seen written for children. It is very well scheduled into manageable chunks. I am simply amazed by the depth and breadth of the content. My ten year old can now explain with ease the differences between pantheism, polytheism, atheism and monotheism, and determine what world religions subscribe to which worldviews, from a Christian perspective. She can also explain to her friends that neanderthal reconstructions are based more upon speculative artistic licence than hard evidence, and, most significantly, *why* this is the case. She translated a text from Ooldea (native Australian) dialect into English while studying about Australia in geography. She compared and contrasted God's commandment to Adam and Eve with Satan's distorted message (Did you know that he used almost all of the same words God did, twisted out of order? I had no idea...!) And we have only reached week 5. :-) I would wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone wanting to plumb the depths of the Bible and challenge their, as well as their children's, understanding of God's Word.

I just love this book. Using it with my sons (9 & 11). Wonderful!

I agree with Lori S. Used this with ds, 12, and we ditched it too. It was too much busy work, especially for families that already have a strong devotional routine.

This book is wearing us out. I think we have to ditch it. Using it with ds, 13 and dd, 12. They both complain about it, and it just seems like so much on top of everything else in Core 5. They feel like it is just busy work.
