My favorite Sonlight book this year was Toliver's Secret by Esther Wood Brady. Ellen Toliver was afraid of a mission that her grandfather sent her on. She kept the secret message securley in a loaf of bread. She bravely went through all the things that she never knew she could do! For me this book was intresting, exiting and nice to read. I thought she wouldn't ever make it through but she did! This book will amaze! Adventurous people will like to read this exciting book!

Are you ready for an exciting journey? If you are this is a book for you. Toliver's Secret is about a shy timid eleven year old girl living in America with her Grandfather. One day she learns that her Grandfather is a spy. He has to make a trip but he is injured. She will have to make the trip for him. I love this book because it's an exciting journey through the Revolutionary War. If you want more adventure you should read this book.

Both of my kids liked it. My daughter listened to it for the second time and still enjoyed it.

My girls loved this book! Very exciting story that doesn't play out the way you expect it to. Good overview of New York during the occupation by the British.

I liked Toliver’s Secret because it made me feel excited. “Toliver” had to take a secret message in a loaf of bread to General Washington. It’s a great book. It’ll keep your attention. You should read it because it’s a good book! Bria W., age 9

Not the kind of book I thought it would be, for sure. Ellen standing up for herself and her country truly makes a statement to your children. We were very glad that Dicey "the meanie" got hers in the end.
