This is a great book. I didn't find any sort of questionable theories (ie evolution and the like). A very fun book to read.

All of our children 4, 7, and 8 loved this book. It presented the information in a fun yet thorough fashion. It isn't Usborne. The girls were talking about the archeological digs for weeks after this, and when we saw a video clip on archeology, they were able to tell me things they learned from this book!

This was an interesting book. My three year old LOVED the pictures but wasn't too interested in the content. My six year old enjoyed the content though there could have been a little more for him.

Just to comment on a previous review, this is NOT an Usborne book. One of the things I actually enjoyed about this book was its general lack of "theory"--just did a great job presenting the info. All my kids (2, 4, 5) are enraptured by this book. *I* learned stuff from this book!

This was a fun book to read, but I am not a fan of Usborne. Their books speak about "theories" as if they are fact and that thinking seeps into all of their books that I've read so far.

This book was a huge hit with our daughter.
The book is fun to read, plus it covers the topic of archaelogy in an engaging format. After we finished the book we had our own expedition in the sandbox looking for dinosaurs.

Great book for teaching children about archeology. The style is similar to Magic School Bus and quickly engages children. Entertaining and educational at the same time.
