I read this to my 7yr old dd and 4 yr old ds. Both loved the book and talked so much about it afterward. I highly recommend it!
"I liked all Little Pear's adventures! He went to the fair under the vegetables. I learned that Little Pear is sometimes good and sometimes bad." ~Zoe age 7

I almost didn't read this book to my kids. But my children pleaded with me. Then in the end i enjoyed it as much as they did. They even learned a few big words like mischievous ext. We even made Tang-hulur and next on the list is dumplings. My children enjoyed the story about Little Pear. We searched on the internet for Kaoliang, Cicadas, and the Yellow river. This simple little book was a learning experience in the end and a lot of fun.

My 7-year-old was often disappointed by the lack of parental correction and training Little Pear received (especially when he was naughty), but this led to good conversations. Not a favorite but introduced us to a China we didn't know before.

This may be my personal favorite of the year. My 8 year old thought Little Pear was hilarious! The drawings were sweet, too. Always a nice touch with the younger set.

Wonderful! My kids begged for more everyday. Having recently returned home from a trip to China to adopt our daughter, I can honestly say this book paints an accurate portrait of the country. Little Pear's adventures brought us lots of laughter along with our learning.

A sweet and charming look into pre-Western-ized China culture and family life. It's both funny and educational, so my kids like it.

We enjoyed this book for the most part. Little Pears' naughtiness led to some great discussions with my children on obedience, selflessness, and other character traits that Little Pear lacked. This book turned out to be a great teaching tool for our family.

My seven year old says, "This book is great because it is funny and Little Pear gets himself into lots of messes! We went to the library and checked out another Little Pear book because the first this one is so fun to read."

My dd grabbed this book and reread it to her dolls as soon as we were finished with it. She even named one of her stuffed animals 'little pear.' Yes, maybe he's getting into trouble all the time, but the book has a lot of good information in it.

My 8 yr. old son loved this book. It was a simple little story, but he was always shocked at the things Little Pear would get into. I think he spent the whole time with his mouth wide open and in fits of giggles. Just a little fun easy read.
