This book is entertaining for the 1st grade age group. My dd 6 loved it! (not so much ds 4) I found it a bit tiresome to read but kept at it because dd was delighted by it. By the end of the book she knew exactly how each chapter was going to end! After the core is done I will consider reading the rest of the series.

I will not read this book. I agree with Kari C., Mrs. Piggle Wiggle is a witch. If the magic she uses is not from God, then where is it coming from? Witchcraft is an abomination to the Lord.

Kari C.-it's a shame that you are so closed minded. You missed out. These books are very silly and fun. I'm a Christian as well and I was raised by my wonderful independent baptist parents. I was given these books by my sister and read the entire series. Somehow I managed to grow into a well-adjusted woman and mother of 2 little girls, who will be reading this series. BTW You cannot reach anyone if you act like you are superior to them.

Jaime(Age 7) - this book is my favourite because its funny and it is about kids. My favourite part of the book was 'The fighter quarrelers cure'. This book made me feel happy. I think you'll want to read this book because it is short and made me laugh.

My daughter (age 7) and I really disliked this book and we quit halfway through. She asked me, "Mommy, why don't the kids' parents discipline and instruct them instead of having Mrs. Piggle Wiggle trick them into being good?" I couldn't have said it better myself. Very anti-parent, anti-correcting, anti-spanking book.

A fun idea to begin with, but quickly got tedious to read. Every single chapter follows the same formula. I ended up reading this to the kids at lunch so my husband (who usually does read-alouds at bedtime) wouldn't have to endure it. Kids loved it, though!

I will not read this book to my children. Within the first two pages Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle says the hump on her back is a ''lump of magic'' and it sometimes turns her into a ''witch''. I stopped there. Although many people would not have a problem with this, I do. Many find witches cute and funny and magic is okay if its 'good magic', but there is no such thing. The Bible clearly states that magic and witches are an abomination and I certainly will not read anything to my children that turns what God says is an abomination into a cute story. Very unhappy that this is in the curriculum. Deuteronomy 18:10-12
"There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord: and because of these abominations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee."

If only it were that easy.... Cute story. Kept their attention.

Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle made the struggles of childhood behavior seems so easy to conquer. I felt as a parent I wish I could come up with such creative ideas to combat the 'whinies' or the 'lazies'. In the end we had a wonderful time reading her 'remedies' for all of the children's character maladys.

A bit long-winded when it comes to the phone calls, but my kids really enjoyed this one. The "cures" are very creative and funny!
