What riotous, giggling fun! The girls and I read Mr. Popper's Penguins together, and it seemed I couldn't read just 1 chapter or even 2! They cajoled me to no end to keep reading. Finally, heavy-lidded, I insisted we were done for the night.
This book is apt to tickle anyone's funny bone. From penguins in refrigerators to penguins taking up residence in a nice, clean home, Mr. Popper's Penguins is a classic not to be missed. It's just plain fun!

We loved this book until the last two pages. My daughter was so distraught that Mr. Popper was going to leave his family for 2 years that we rewrote the ending and made the whole family go on the expedition. Then it was a wonderful story through and through.

I loved this book! One of my favorite parts of the story is when Captain Cook gathered things from around the house to make his nest in the fridge. I would like to see Mr. Popper's Penguins do a performance, it would be funny! Reviewed by Hannah, age 7

This is probably one of my favorite childhood books to read. My kids really enjoyed the story and I often found myself giggling at the antics of Mr Popper and his penguins. It is very well written and there is never a dull moment!

One of the better books. We mostly enjoyed the beginning of the story when Captain Cook first comes to live with the Poppers.

Mr. Popper's Penguins is about a man who is a painter who is always thinking about Antartica. Once he was daydreaming about Antartica and painted someone's kitchen half green and half yellow. The person liked the kitchen paint so much that they told him to leave it that way. One day when he was listening to the radio, someone said that he would get a package. Then a package came and it had a penguin in it. Mr. Popper was very surprised. My favorite part of the book was when the penguin used the refrigerator as his house. I also liked when Mr. Popper tried to take the penguin for a walk. When they got to the stairs, the penguin slid right down the stairs on his belly. I liked this book because it is fun, cute, and funny. This review is by Austin, age 8.

This book was my son's favorite so far. It was very funny and kept his interest the whole way through. He couldn't wait to get to "Read Aloud" time while in this book.
