Observe and learn how to do every science experiment (almost 100!) in the Science A curriculum.

In Discover & Do, Level K, you'll observe nearly 100 science experiments that are part of the Science A curriculum. Not only that, you'll learn how to do the experiments yourself — in the comfort of your own home!

You'll learn what makes planes fly and why you can't taste things when you have a cold. You'll grow plants from beans, make a weather vane, and build a sailboat. You'll do all these things and much more.

We've always said that Sonlight is "great for your kids, AND great for you," and the Discover & Do DVD's were made with that in mind. As a busy parent who might not have the time to demonstrate the experiments his or herself, your kids will be able to watch the experiments and learn do it on their own.

Filled with fascinating activities and peppered with humor, this DVD is an ideal supplement to your child's education. (Available in DVD only.)

There are so many things I love about Sonlight, and the Discover and Do DVD is yet another one. I've already done Core A once (our oldest son is now doing Core D), but at that time there was no such DVD. I am now doing Core A again with our two younger children. I felt I had to write a note because if there was one thing I didn't do a good job on in the past it was those science experiments! Now we all do them — "and want to do them — "because of the DVD. My older son also participates because it's so engaging.

"Thank you for the fantastic Discover & Do Science DVD. We just finished the Science A program and loved it. My boys (ages 2, 4, and 6) got a kick out of Ike and his experiments and would get even more excited about doing our experiments. They can't wait to start Science B. Thanks for getting the fun started in our house!"

When it was time to take a break and watch a normal, non school movie, THIS was the movie my 4 year old requested. She and my 5 year old watch with rapt attention and even my 2 year old and 1 year old sit and watch as though it's the most interesting thing they ever saw! Great movie!

My son, Noah, age 5 (Core A) is loving this video and all the science experiments included on it. He doesn't want to shut it off when it's done. I definitely think it would be great for older kids as well. A great buy and so glad it was included in the core otherwise I might not have tried it. LOVE IT!

My kids absolutely adore this video! They cannot get enough of the simple experiments demonstrated and will watch it for hours on end. I love the fact that they used a friendly teenage figure as it really endeared the video to my children, given the fact that they have many aunts, uncles and cousins in that age range that they look up to so much as little ones.

I popped in my Discover and Do DVD for the first time yesterday and sat down to watch it with my 6 and 4 1/2 year olds. They didn't want to turn it off! They watched all the Air and Kitchen experiments in 2 days! At first I was taking time to pause it and ask them their hypothesis then after 8 lessons in a row had to make dinner, about lesson 12 they insisted they had to start asking me what my hypothesis was so they could have 3 of them. Thanks for a fun DVD to watch and learn from!

Both of my daughters have loved this DVD! They always get excited about doing the experiments as soon as we finish watching it. It is a great accessory to the science activities book.

My children love this DVD. It is their favorite of the entire series. The tone of it is more relaxed and matter of fact and easier to listen to because of it.

Our daughter loves the Discover and Do Volume 1. Ike, the scientist introduces children to science through a series of fun and engaging science experiments. Our family also loves watching the "out takes" which are just down right hilarious! We have watched the dvd so many times I feel like the guys are living in our home.

What's not to like about a DVD that shows you exactly how to do your science experiments? Science experiments is not my thing. Watching how to do the experiments on the video makes it much easier to figure out exactly what we need to do. Helpful hints on what to especially look for are sprinkled throughout the video. My children enjoy watching this over and over, making it a great value. This particular one is their favorite of the Discover & Do series.

My 5-year-old likes to watch her Discover and Do DVD. In fact, she asks to watch it even when it's not school time. While it's not the most professionally produced video I have ever seen, it is quite good. I appreciate that he shows that science can happen right in the kitchen or around town, not only in a fancy laboratory. My daughter tells me she is a scientist now — that's exactly the attitude I'd like to reinforce. The video basically shows the experiments in the Science K books from Usbourne. Before watching it, I thought we could do without and just do the experiments on our own. While we could, it does make it more fun to watch him demonstrate them. It's also nice to have him explain how the science principles work, reinforcing what we do at home. Some things are better than we can easily do at home. When he explains that air expands when heated, for example, he is in a field where hot air balloons are being launched. Seeing that helps bring the concept to life.
