This is not one of the books I would have chosen on my own, but it is easily one of our whole family's favorite books now. Since we are praying about going overseas, my girls just love hearing about how other people through the centuries have served Jesus by living in other places. When reading almost all of these stories, I am moved to tears, and it opens up a wonderful opportunities for me to explain to the girls why. Why the gospel is so dear to me, a sinner saved by grace. Why I am thankful that someone else went out of their way to share Jesus with me. Why it breaks my heart that there aren't more people clamoring to go and make disciples of all nations. Our family has been impacted by reading these lovely stories!

My children and I love this book and recommend it to all of our friends, big and small!

Some of these stories are very engaging and hold my 6yo dd's attention while others are a chore just to get her to sit through the reading, and other stories are above her understanding right now. There are gems hidden throughout though, that I am better for the reading (#50, The Tidal Wave, was especially touching to me). I wish this book was a bit more palatable, but not all things in life are, and all in all, I know we're better for reading it.

Our family loves this book. I am often so moved by the stories that I cry. My sweet five year old boy as begun to see that as a sign that a story is particularly good. At the end of these tear-inducing tales, he often says, "That is so AWESOME!" in reference to all God has done for different people groups on this planet. I'm so thankful he is learning the truth about who God is and how He moves powerfully to bring His Son Jesus Christ to the nations.

Wasn't too sure about this book's ability to keep my son's attention the first couple days, but we kept with it. This curriculum was the first time we had read to him using lengthy stories without pictures and I think it just took a bit for him to adjust. Now he is disappointed if we are scheduled to use any of the other books for our history/geography lesson.

Our family Loves this book! We read it together as a family. We are encouraged in our faith! Sometimes I need to retell the story and paraphrase the story for my 5 year old but she remembers these stories!

We love this book. My daughter begs for more everytime we read. I amd amazed that it is one of her favorite "school" books. I often end up crying!

Wonderful book! My son listens closely each time to see if I am going to cry. I would definitely recommend this book.

Love, Love, Love this book. I am ordering 2 more for my mother to give to 2 other grandchildren. The stories are so rich and though a K aged child will only begin to grasp the truths, they will be able to glean new depths as the years pass. Wonderful book-love iti!

My son just cannot sit for this book. I too have a hard time reading some of them, though the message behind them is beautiful. Sorry Sonlight! So far this is the one book that we just cannot get through. I don't even try anymore...
