We liked the book except for the poem entitled Anthropoids. It was a teaching opportunity but a bit disturbing to have my 7 year old reading a poem to a my 5 year old about how we are all related to the apes.

We were laughing and laughing this afternoon as we re-read our favourites so far. My youngest, four, had requested that we do this. I guess our most fun one is "Windscreen Wipers" because we do the actions, getting faster and faster and hitting each other on the head. This book is such a keeper- a great introduction to poetry, a lovely looking book and so much fun. Thank you Sonlight! I thought I had all the poetry books I wanted, but I was wrong.

This book is a delightful way to introduce children to poetry! The playful name is indicative of the entire book. My dd looks forward to our readings and often pulls this book out and adds it to our school book stack for the day if I haven't, trying to sneak in some "extra" from it on days it is not assigned :)

Such charming poetry! My children love this book and are always giggling after only a few lines.

I doubted whether my son would be interested in this book when I flipped through it, but I was pleasantly surprised that even if he was in a squirmy mood, he enjoyed listening to the poems. I myself enjoyed reading this book as well!

I love this book almost as much as my son does. He has his favorites and we have to read them along with the poem for the day.

This was fun. This really makes poetry so much more interesting! My son really enjoyed this and I did too!

Really great, coherent poems! My dd 5 understands them and really ENJOYS them! We don't call this book "silly" like we do Mother Goose!

All 4 of our kids (ages 3-7) LOVE LOVE LOVE this book! And the best part is...so do I! Thanks again, SL! :)
