Johnny Tremain is my favorite book from Core 3. It was such a good book because it was full of action, excitement, and history(but in a fun way). By reading this book I learned more about the time period leading up to the Revolutionary War. Through Johnny's eyes we learn what it is like to be an orphan, have a bad injury, and be alone in the world. This book was so good even my Dad wanted to listen to it. by Blaine Moore age 10

This was my favorite book for this school year. I like the book because it tells about how our country won its independence from England. The book gives details about famous people during the Revolutionary War, like John Hancock, Sam Adams, and Paul Revere. The more we read, the better and more exciting Johnny Tremain became. Johnny was always doing something adventurous. I highly recommend this book not just for the great study of American history but for the pleasure of those who read it. Reviewed by Rachel, age 8.

My favorite book so far is Jonny Tremain . It's about a boy who was apprenticed to a silversmith, but burned his hand, and couldn't work with silver anymore. He found a printing shop and got a job delivering papers. He was able to do his job and spy too. It was really exiting and fast-moving like a river. It was so exiting that every night when we read it I wanted more! I didn't have a favorite part. I liked all of it!

I really enjoyed the book Johnny Tremain by Esther Forbes. It was published by Yearling and was a Newberry Award winner. It's about a young boy named Johnny. He is an apprentice for a silversmith. He ends up getting injured and can't be a silversmith. He trys to get a new job and has many adventures including my favorite part of the book, when he helps at the Boston Tea Party. I reccommend this book because you will learn about the Revolutionary War and have fun doing it. Spencer C. age 9

If you like emotional books, you should read Johnny Tremain. Esther Forbes is an awesome author. She writes really good books like Johnny Tremain. It was published in New York in 2005 by Scott Cameron. Johnny Tremain is a silversmith before the Revolutionary War, but when he burns his hand, his life is changed forever. It is even harder for him during the Revolutionary War when tragedy happens. Ireally thikn Johnny Tremain is a good book. by: Mikayla Sandusky, age 8

This was hands down our favorite book of core 3. At the end of each day's reading, my 3 children would literally jump on me and beg me to keep reading!

One of my favorite books of third grade was Johnny Tremain by Esther Forbes. It was really exciting! It took place in the late 1700's during the American Revolution. In the book, Johnny trained a wild horse and spied against the British, all with an injured hand. At the beginning of the book, his hand got burned badly and he could not be an apprentice silversmith anymore. However, he found a way to live and be useful in the war. It was nice that he made a good friend in Rab. At the end of the book, he found out that his hand could be fixed so he could be an apprentice silversmith again. This book made me feel sometimes sad and sometimes happy. I never got bored with the story. I think you will want to read this book because it talked about some real American people like Paul Revere, John Hancock, Sam Adams, and Dr. Warren. Review by Kasey Cruz, age 9.
