Your purchase of this product will allow us to donate a portion of the total cost of your order to Sonlight's charities. We are thrilled that, last year, we were able to contribute $1.35 to these organizations for every "Discover & Do Level 1 DVD" we sold. We look forward to doing the same this year!

In Discover & Do, Level 1, you'll observe more than 90 science experiments and activities that are part of the Science 1 curriculum. Not only that, you'll learn how to do the experiments yourself — in the comfort of your own home!

You'll make a clock out of your shadow, build an electromagnet, and learn how to make your own rainbow. You'll even make a magnet float in mid-air! You'll do all these things and much more.

We've always said that Sonlight is "great for your kids, AND great for you," and the Discover & Do DVD's were made with that in mind. As a busy parent who might not have the time to demonstrate the experiments his or herself, your kids will be able to watch the experiments and learn do it on their own.

Filled with fascinating activities and peppered with humor, this DVD is an ideal supplement to your child's education. (Available in DVD only.)

Below are just a few video clips* from this stimulating new DVD.

My kids LOVE this video, and imitating the experiments. They'd rather watch this (and Mathtacular) than Bob the Builder! And hearing my 3 year old talk with understanding about "data collection" and "write" pictures of what happened thrills me.

My children love this DVD, but I'm going to offer a little feedback from a parent's perspective. The DVD makes your science unit rather repetitive. The Usborne book that comes with the curriculum shows you how to conduct the experiment, then you watch Justin do it, then you do it. If you do your experiment first then the DVD is boring because you already know what's going to happen. My kids have complained about the magnets that come in the science kit, they aren't just like Justin's. Justin's appear to be much better, especially the bar magnet he has. Our results have been weaker than his so far due to the magnets. And finally, one irksome thing -- the IG will tell you to say, watch #55 - 58 of the DVD. But when you load it, the "chapter" headings only say the title of the experiment. So you have to hunt for the case and look up the numbers, match them to the titles and make sure you're in the right spot. It'd be nice if the chapter numbers showed on the DVD or if in the IG, they'd write out the name of the chapter... whichever. Justin is peppy and the kids like him a lot.

Inquisikids has really caught on to something! Watch out Bill Nye and Robert Krampf! Inquisikids gives you SO much more for your money! Hopefully Inquisikids will come out with other lines like Principles on how to be a Successful Entrepreneur DVD, Negotiations, Diplomacy, and Conflict Resolution DVD, Investment DVD, English DVD, and many more. I really like the "from our home to yours" approach.

We don't watch it during the assigned times, but rather will pop it in for an extended viewing time every so often. My daughter catches Justin's enthusiasm for science and his habit of record-keeping. She even was not disappointed when an experiment did not work as expected, because she has seen him try things more than once.

What's not to like about a DVD that shows you exactly how to do your science experiments? Science experiments is not my thing. Watching how to do the experiments on the video makes it much easier to figure out exactly what we need to do. Helpful hints on what to especially look for are sprinkled throughout the video. My children enjoy watching this over and over, making it a great value.
