A fine resource! I don't know what it is about these Explode The Codes, but both my son and daughter (now 9 and 7) ask to do these books. "Yes!" I say.

This is somewhat plain...no colors...but very powerful. The book starts with vowels and builds up through vowel combinations. My son is finishing this at 6 yrs old and loves circling, matching, crossing out, writing, reading, and identifying letters and words. He was barely deciphering 3 letter words at the beginning of this book, and is sounding out complex words in his outside environment.
