4 out of 5 stars by Desiree L on 2011-02-04
5 stars *if* no handwriting/letter shaping prior to starting the HWT program - wish we would have started with it! My dd's handwriting has been greatly improved by HWT. The short worksheets make this easy to work into our day without being long enough to cause utter dread at a rote task. The reason I am rating this 4 rather than 5 stars is that I find some of the letting shaping awkward (though they tie into the HWT letter shaping foundation perfectly) - small letter q, numbers 2 and 6. dd already had some formal training while we had her in a small school for K4 so the unfamiliar shaping for these have been giving her some trouble. all in all, great program, go with it from the get-go if you are able to :)

EVERYONE comments about our son's (age 7) handsome handwriting. An international friend exclaimed, "His work looks like a typewriter! AMAZING!" I have terrible penmanship, so I'm relearning with Handwriting-without-Tears! Our son doesn't dread handwriting because the style is "Charlotte Mason"--SHORT LESSONS! Then when grandparents call to say, "Great work, George!" that's all the motivation he needs.
