Discover & Do: 3rd Grade Science Experiments includes 36 experiments to direct your children’s natural curiosity. Each experiment reinforces the concepts learned in the reading while also providing an experience that trains them to think like scientists.

In these 36 experiments—suitable for 3rd grade through 5th grade—you will explore together how fingerprints are different, if a heavy or light airplane flies better, how you measure the wind, and so much more!

Each experiment relates directly to the reading material scheduled in the Sonlight Science C package for a more linear progression from reading to doing. You’ll guide your student through an exploration of the scientific process, starting with a key question—using your children’s natural instinct to question and be curious! As they draw conclusions from their experiments, they will be able to adjust their thinking and gain an appreciation for the scientific process (and principles!) they just experienced for themselves.

The experiments include key concepts, detailed step-by-step instructions, colorful illustrations and helpful tips to take you through each fun, easy, and doable experiment.
