The Best School Work Ever!

This day was talked about everyday until it happened. My 5-year-old asked me every day to track the order and see where it was. When the boxes came, it was every bit as exciting as we expected it would be. We all sat down in the the middle of the floor and started pulling everything out piece by piece. There were constant ooos and aahhs coming from each of us.

It truly was like Christmas in July.

My daughter kept saying, "I'm reading THIS for school!?" She couldn't believe that Curious George was a part of her school work. Then came, "This is going to be the best school work ever!!" from her. She already can't wait to start the school year. (I can't wait to start the school year either.)

Thank you Sonlight for bringing such joy into our house.

This made me smile. You see, we will be starting our second year of Sonlight (second year of homeschooling). We recently received our shipment from Sonlight and we *all* squealed with excitement as we opened the box and examined the contents. My son (age 4) will be starting kindergarten and was so thrilled to find out which books were "his". :) We had been looking forward to Box Day since we finished our school year in May, and it did not disappoint. ;)

Now, contrast that to the neighbor girl (the same age as my oldest daughter, 6) who shrugged and looked very unenthusiastic about her upcoming year of first grade when I asked her. My daughter told her that we homeschool, to which the neighbor girl looked at me and said, "I didn't know you we're a teacher!" (Her mother teaches at public school.) I smiled broadly and said, "Why yes, I am!" :)

    Thank you, Sonlight!
