The IGs lay things out for me and explain them so well that it's easy to follow along and the year flies by. The kids enjoy the Activity Sheets, and they absolutely love watching the experiment DVD and doing the hands-on activities. Sonlight doesn't shy away from challenging curriculum. The most exciting part of the school week is the Science experiment. Joshua often watches the entire Discover & Do DVD, just for fun. Because his daddy is an electrical engineer, they both especially enjoyed working together on circuits for the Core C year. Dad was amazed with the advanced concepts being taught. When he heard the buzzer beep, the expression on our son's face was priceless—as if he had conquered the world! Here, Joshua (8) completes a circuit. The G family, including siblings Marissa (11), Maggie (5) and Eli (3), has been studying with Sonlight for seven years.
"Every year I get more attached to Sonlight and the freedom it gives me to adapt one Core to multiple children. I've been able to keep both boys in the same Core and adapt the Readers, Math, and Handwriting to their specific levels. Science is their FAVORITE! They really get into it with 'lab coats' and 'safety glasses.' It's a weight off my shoulders to know the lesson plans are already made and all I need is about an hour Sunday night to preview what's ahead."
