Sonlight's Language Arts programs are so versatile. This year is the third time through Language Arts 1 for our family, and I have been able to tailor the program to meet the needs of each individual child. If one child needs more work with a certain concept, there are plenty of extra activities in the Instructor's Guide that I can choose from to reinforce that concept. But if they catch on quickly, I have the option of leaving out the extra activities. We also love Sonlight's choices for Readers. The books in Language Arts 1 are familiar favorites that the little ones often pull off the shelf for Mommy to read. Here, Katie (7) reads to Mom as Meghan (3) and Karson (2) eagerly join in for the story.
"One of the benefits of Sonlight is that my kids get to align themselves with God through exploring God's world," writes Helena T of Kemaman, Malaysia. "Sonlight is great for our kids because they love listening to stories. They have tons of questions as we read, and I found that their literacy and vocabulary improved (since English is not our first language). I thank the Lord for Sonlight!" Pictured, Yovela (4), Odelia (6), and Bezalea (1.5) review their memory verse for the week.
"Our 8-year-old son didn't like Language Arts, but since we discovered Sonlight we have seen a great change in his attitude toward reading and writing," writes Ana P of Naples, FL. "He loves reading the Sonlight books, especially The Beginner's Bible. He likes it so much that he reads it not only for his Language Arts class but also every night before he goes to sleep. It's wonderful to see my son not only improving in reading comprehension and writing but also to see that he is doing it using the word of God." Matt (8) particularly enjoys when he can do his reading up in a tree.
