How to Choose Which Reader is Right for Your Child

Need some help deciding which readers package to choose for your child(ren)?

  • Grade K Readers - use with any Core curriculum package P4/5 - A, for children who are ready to learn the alphabet. Introduces them to each letter and the primary sound(s) it makes.

  • Grade 1 Readers - use with any Core curriculum package A - B, for children who have just begun to master three-letter, short-vowel words. By the end of this program your child will be able to read chapter books.

  • Grade 2 Readers - use with any Core curriculum package A - C, for children who have progressed to reading long-vowel, 5- and 6-letter words with moderate fluency and who require extra white space between sentences and fewer words on a page.

  • Grade 3 Readers - use with any Core curriculum package B - C, for children who read long-vowel, 5- and 6-letter words fluently but could still benefit from more practice with more complex chapter books.

  • Grade 4-5 Readers - use with any Core curriculum package C - D, for children able to read anything you hand them, but who you'd like to protect from the grittier realities of life that more advanced books often deal with. These books cover gentle topics.

  • Core D Regular Readers - use only with Core curriculum package D. This readers package includes titles whose subject matter expands and amplifies the American history topics students learn in Core D.

  • Core D Advanced Readers - use only with Core curriculum package D, for Core D students who are voracious readers. This readers package also includes titles whose subject matter expands and amplifies the American history topics students learn in Core D. Rather than requiring more difficult reading, the Advanced Readers D program includes the Core D Regular Readers package plus nine additional titles.
