Introductory Letter from Sarita: 2008

Sarita Holzmann

Dear Friend,

I think about you as I imagine this catalog arriving in your mailbox. Perhaps you'll have to share your copy with many pairs of little hands as you consider what's in store for the school year ahead. I want to encourage you in your homeschool venture and I pray for you as you seek to make wise decisions about how to learn and grow with your family.

This year's catalog is significantly different from any we have published in the past. One of the biggest changes: we've moved almost all the articles about Sonlight to the back of the catalog. Why? Because Wayne, our general manager, convinced us that, by the way we've presented it in the past, we've been making Sonlight more complicated than it needs to be."Sonlight really isn't all that complex. It's not hard to understand."

He used the analogy of buying a car. The auto manufacturers don't force you to think through all the technical details of the car—how the engine runs, the transmission, the brakes, the way the seats operate, and so forth. They show you the car. They let you try it out. And then, if you're interested, they let you get all the information you want.

"Put the 'car' up front in the catalog," he suggested. So we've done that, beginning on page 2—nine unique "complete packages" for brand-new homeschoolers who have children in preschool through sixth grade. If you're coming in to homeschooling from a classroom school background, any one of these packages, marked by grade, should serve you well.

Of course, if you're ready to "soup-up" your curriculum; if you have multiple children; or if you're starting out a higher level—middle or high school—then you'll want to turn a little further back in the catalog to mix-n-match the components of your choice.

Need further help? You can call us at (303) 730-6292. Or catch us online at www.sonlight.com. Or, possibly best of all, join the Sonlighters Club community at www.sonlight-forums.com where you can get the assembled wisdom of thousands of Sonlighters who have gone before you. For broad questions, the "Choosing Sonlight" forum is very helpful. But you also have the opportunity to get a free 30-day trial membership to the community in which you can peruse all the program-specific forums to see what current and past customers have had to say about their experiences: what they are studying; what they like; what they don't like...and why.

I hope we can serve you, as you serve your family, with the only homeschool curriculum that comes with an 18-week, "use it risk-free" guarantee: "Use your curriculum for 18 weeks (half a school year). If it doesn't surpass all your expectations and desires, please return it, used books and all, for a full refund."

I believe you'll find Sonlight Curriculum really is "The Way You Wish You'd Been Taught. Guaranteed."

Take it for a test drive and let me know if you agree.

Sincerely,

Sarita
