Guidelines for Linking

It's easy to start earning money after you become a Sonlight Affiliate—simply set up an affiliate link anywhere on your web site. What's more: You've got options!

The Pre-Made Link

This is the easiest way to get started.

Step 1: Log in to your InquisiCorp Affiliate account and click "Campaigns".

Then click on the "Sonlight Sale" link under the Name column.

This will bring you to the a list of your options.

Step 2: Choose the banner image or other graphics or text links (called "creatives") you like. There are many options, so be sure to flip through at least a few of the pages.

Some of the options include a description that tells you basically where the links will send customers.

Step 3: Simply copy the code in the box below the image or description and paste into your site. You don't have to change anything. The link already has your affiliate ID and will track clicks from your site.

Many affiliates find the text links options bring great success in content rich ads. You may want to change the font or color of some of our pre-made text links, and that's great. We simply ask that you not change the content of the message.

Ready for something a little more advanced?

The Basic Link

Maybe you have a list of your favorite home school sites...and we're on it! Maybe you want to create a section on your site devoted why you like Sonlight^®.

Wherever you talk about Sonlight^® on your site, wrap some of the text with a hyperlink like this one:

<a href="http://inquisicorp.directtrack.com/z/creative number goes here/your affiliate id goes here">Something wonderful you have to say about Sonlight^®!</a>

The creative number varies depending on what you want the link to do. If, for instance, you wanted the link to go to the same page as the banner example above, you would include the creative number 37 because that goes to our Literature homeschooling page.

If you want your visitor to end up on Sonlight's home page, use 2082. Keep reading to see even more examples.

Want to send visitors to a particular page?

You may want to send your visitors to a particular page on our site. Maybe it's an article, maybe it's the online catalog... whatever you're interested in promoting. There's a way to do that too.

Let's say you want to say how wonderful our Online Catalog is and you want folks to go straight to the Go Shopping page when they click on your special link. The way to put this link on your site would be:

You can replace "products.html" with any page on our site. Just find a page you like and look at the Address bar in your browser (Location if you use Netscape). You'll see the complete URL of that page.

Want to link directly to a product?

Linking to a product is basically the same. Just be sure to use the ITEM NUMBER for that product (let's say it is 1A01) and add that number followed by ".html" to the link.

You can replace "1A01" with any product on our site. Item numbers can be found under the title on the product description page, in the catalog, or even on our website.

Always use UPPER-CASE letters in item numbers.
