Sonlight Rice Bag Project

Have you gotten a letter about Sonlight's new Rice Bag Project? Some Sonlight customers are just now getting their letters, so I wanted to tell you it's not too late to sign up.

Even though the sign-up date in Sarita's letter is Sept. 12, just know this deadline is flexible. You can sign up anytime. I just want to ensure you get a welcome packet and don't miss out on any of the educational email program from Mission India, which starts Sept. 23. If you sign up online before the 23rd, you should still get all their emails.

What action should you take to find out more about this outreach or join in?

Here's a link where you can download Sarita's letter to learn more about this project:

(You can also find it via a "Rice Bag" tab on Sonlight's homepage.)

Sarita's letter should give you everything you need to know, including the inspiration and details of this outreach effort, how to make this an important learning experience for your family, and the website where you can sign up and watch an introductory video.

You can go to http://www.missionindia.org/sonlight/ to join the program today. You can also talk about this experience with other Sonlight parents on the new Rice Bag Project forum on the Sonlight® Forums.

If this is all news to you, let me briefly explain the heart of the effort:

A couple weeks ago, Sarita Holzmann (Sonlight's president) announced a new initiative to impact Kingdom work in India. The Rice Bag Project is a chance for Sonlight customers to join Sarita and her family in meeting physical and spiritual needs of families in need.

Not only is it a project designed to help Indian women learn to read and find life-changing hope, it's also a great family learning opportunity with cultural notes, little gifts from India, and facts about the 10/40 window.

I'm excited about the enthusiasm of those Sonlighters who have already jumped in to participate in this project. I'm already hearing stories of Sonlight families catching a vision for these Indian families and using creative methods--from lemonade stands to gathering their friends around them to help--to offer hope to these people.

Please understand there's no pressure on you to participate. I just don't want you to miss out on the chance to do so if this effort is a good fit for your family. I'm honored to invite you to join together with our team at Sonlight to make an impact on the world in one more way.

Blessings,

Laura Lee Ellis
