Core P4/5 With Grade K Readers Program Includes:

Exploring God's World is a 36-week program specially designed to give you a delightful learning experience with your 4- to 5-year-old child.

We've chosen 29 splendid books for our P4/5 curriculum — books you'll be able to read to your child in a pleasant 20 minutes a day.

Your preschooler will learn about God's miracles in the Family-Time Bible; plants, animals, seasons, and more in The Berenstain Bears' Big Book of Science and Nature; the amazing jobs different people fulfill in Things People Do; bedtime stories from all over the world in The Lion Storyteller Bedtime Book; and much more.

Four of the 29 books you'll receive, Developing the Early Learner, Vols. 1-4, are uniquely designed to increase young children's perceptual skills. Just in Vol. 1, children develop 12 different motor, visual, auditory, and comprehension skills. Research has proven that programmed perceptual training, like that provided in the Developing Early Learner series, can actually increase IQ!

In addition, in Exploring God's World you'll find an indispensable Instructor's Guide that contains an easy-to-use, 36-week, day-by-day schedule. The schedule saves you planning time and maximizes the time you get to spend with your preschooler. And it organizes the books to give you and your preschooler a variety of pleasurable readings each day.

Grade K Readers

• Designed for children who are ready to learn the alphabet.
• Introduces your child to each letter and the primary sound(s) it makes.
• Reinforces learning through carefully structured stories built around the specific letter sounds your children have learned.
• First stories use common letters that children find easy to recognize (p, t, m, and so forth.)
• Later stories include less common letters and those whose sounds are harder to distinguish like y, e, z, x, and q.
• Features the Sonlight-exclusive Fun Tales — a set of 27 story books focused on the letters as learned.

On a typical day, you'll read selections from 4-5 different books. Talk about variety-and fun!

Your preschooler will have a weekly memory verse to learn, keyed to a specific character quality. In the first three weeks, your preschooler will learn about attentiveness, faith, and generosity.

You'll also get to share a poem or prayer, song, and activity with your preschooler each week. (These are detailed in the Instructor's Guide.)

The 29 books without the Sonlight-exclusive Instructor's Guide are just great books. With the Instructor's Guide, the whole collection becomes a self propelled learning adventure, guaranteed to bring you and your child joy every day (all for only around $30 a month!).
