Horizons Kindergarten Math Manipulatives

While I love Horizon math, I regret purchasing the kit. The flash cards were a huge disappointment- Every flash card drill they want you to have the answers showing, well there are no answers on these so I purchased flashcards from amazon to supplement and the ones I purchased have the problem on the front and back with the answer on just one side. The clocks are ok but they only turn one way, it would be helpful if they would turn counter clockwise as well. I've also purchased 10 and 100 place materials on my own. Don't waste your money on this worthless kit.

We are just now opening our Math Manipulatives K package, and it should be mentioned that there is now number and color/shape flashcards included in the kit. Thumbs up to Sonlight for being responsive to customer concerns. Not having used the kit yet, but combining what I read in the other reviews with the new discovery, I'm saying 4 stars.

I am disappointed with the contents in relation to the items required by lessons. I have spent so much time in our math lessons trying to compromise something that is missing or inadequate in the kit. Plus, the clock's hands don't move independently as the lesson requires the student to move them in the lessons. Waste of time really! My daughter enjoyed the prism shapes. That is about it. Haven't used anything else.

I was very disappointed in the number flash cards in this kit that you have to cut out yourself. And, that index cards and crayons were provided for you to make your own color and shape flashcards. After much frustration we wound up buying color and shape flashcards and number flashcards. The only thing we used from the kit was the clocks for telling time. This kit is definitely not worth the money!

I was disappointed in the number flash cards. You have to cut them out yourself and then tape the sides together. The glue and scissors were also very low quality. We used the glue twice and threw it away. I also agree with the other review that shape and color flash cards should be included. I thought the rest of the kit was good though.

I am not impressed with this kit. For the price, they could have included shapes and colors flash cards which they recommend you buy or make yourself (hence the 3 packs of index cards included). Not worth the money. You can put together this same kit for a lot less.
