Two girls repent of "making fun" of the poor girl in their class who says she has a hundred dresses. Heart-rending.

The entire family enjoyed this one. My older girls read it on their own even though it isn't in their core.

I enjoyed this book, but my 4 and 5 year old girls didn't as much. Often they want me to keep reading past an assignment, but not the case with this book. Sparked good discussion about how to treat others.

My daughter insisted that we read this whole book in one sitting and I later found her in our glider reading it to herself. She had been meanly treated by a girl in preschool and I strongly feel that this book helped her deal with her feelings, forgive, and move on.

This is one of those books I didn't expect the kids to like but they did. Although they haven't experienced this type of bullying in school (thanks to homeschooling!), it's provided them with background to understand what does happen and also to help their friends in school resist bullying.

I love these 'old books' that have great language and don't 'dumb it down' for young children. We enjoyed it!

My son really enjoyed this story and I thought the lesson taught was very valuable.

We loved this book and my daughters talked all about the different dresses and why Wanda drew them. they also learned about how to treat others even if they are different than you.

Wonderful fictional story based on the author's childhood experience. 5 stars at this household!

Great opportunity to discuss making fun of people, seeing beyond appearances, action and consequence, and forgiveness. What a wonderful and sweet story. This will be a reread for sure.

True story which teaches children to think about others and not being quick to judge others. It teaches the pain of making fun of others and of being made fun of. It teaches about forgiveness. A wonderful, ethical story for children which fits in good with this age group. (Core C)
