5 out of 5 stars by Leslie R on 2011-05-31
The Shakespeare Stealer is about an orphan named Widge, who has the knowledge of Shorthand, the miraculous penmanship that can be written as fast as the spoken word. Widge’s cruel master tells him to steal Shakespeare’s new play, Hamlet. However, before Widge is able to steal the play, he finds something he never thought he would, friends. Widge doesn’t want to steal the play from his new actor friends, but when his master threatens him will he stay true? This was a very good book. In the end, Widge, who had started an orphan who didn’t have any true friends and was forced to steal, learns the true meaning of “words such as honesty and trust, loyalty and friendship. And family. And home.” By Sophia, age 12

A page-turner, according to my 12 year old son.

This was my daughters favorite book this year. She liked the humor along with the mystery. She read the sequels also.

Quite fun. There are two sequels to continue the fun - Shakespeare's Scribe and Shakespeare's Spy.
