"The Golden Goblet" by Eloise Jarvis McGraw is a great book! It's a little boring in the beginning, but after the first few chapters the book hooks you. "The Golden Goblet" is about a boy who has to live with his evil and abuse stepbrother. Ranhofer wants nothing more than to be free of his stepbrother and to become a goldsmith. But how can he become a goldsmith if his stepbrother is forcing him to work as a stone cutter?

This book "The Golden Goblet" By Eloise Jarvis McGraw is a very good book. Now the beginning is a little slow but make sure you stick it out. It gets a lot better as you go on. I liked it once we finished. But be sure to read it.

By Aislynn Fox, 10 yrs old After Ranhofer’s father dies, he is left to live with his step-brother, Gebu. Life shouldn’t be hard but Gebu is always beating Ranhofer. Ranhofer is determined to change his destiny but fears his brother will try to stop him. Ranhofer has always strived toward his goal of being a goldsmith until his brother cuts off his dreams and forces him to be a stone cutter’s apprentice. With the help of friends Ranhofer sets out on a journey to try to change his future. I think The Golden Goblet by Eloise Jarvis McGraw is a book that I would recommend for any reader! If you are interested in ancient times, action and adventure than this book is for you. In this book you will learn everything from the culture of ancient Egypt to the process of making a tomb for a king. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did.

This is an awesome, interesting book. It's been one of our favorites. We especially enjoyed the unexpected, but lovable ending.

Fine but nothing spectacular. As always though Sonlight picks book where we learn about the history so that is all good.

This is one of those books where my daughter could not sit still because she was so excited. I hate studying Egypt, but this book makes it fun.
