History & Geography C - 5-Day

We used the history/geography portion of the core as well as Bible last year for 2nd grade; my son was 7. What a great program. It made history come alive, and my son was enthralled! Because of the emotions that the books evoked, he still remembers facts that I am not sure I ever learned in all of my schooling. This program is definitely worth the money! We didn't get the readers or read-alouds, which I regret. We did find many of them at the library, but we didn't read them according to the schedule, which made it a bit more complicated. All of the books were well-chosen, and there wasn't a single one we didn't like. The program gave my son (and me!) a heart for other cultures and for missionary work. It's not full of dry facts, but engaging stories of real people in history, helping us to remember those facts as we discovered them. It's also given my son a love for reading, and not just fiction; he now loves to check out non-fiction books to learn new things. It's exciting to see that happen. I'd recommend this program in a heartbeat!
