When I initially listened to this I thought, Oh boy, this is hokey! But I'll tell you what, it is catchy! We have listened over and over and I am learning the countries with the children. I've learned some of them just by having the cd playing in the background. I am planning to order a copy for my nieces and nephews, as they are visiting and enjoying it also.
In response to the previous reviewer, I want to add that while Africa gets only one map page in the Workbook, there are seven Africa songs.
The workbook grants permission for the purchaser to make photocopies for his or her family. However, due to the cost of ink, and for the sake of convenience, it has made more sense for me to buy a workbook for each child and one for myself from which to make any additional copies if needed. As I write this, I have 8 children coloring the map of the former USSR. (Might I add, it's mid-July and they are on vacation.)

Although we enjoy most of the songs and I believe they are a great tool for learning geography, I give this product only three stars. I have been frustrated by the anglo-centricity of the book. Great Britain, for instance, gets its own page and one of the longest (and most confusing) songs, while the whole of Africa gets only one page. I was also disappointed with the fact that Sonlight gave very little time in the curriculum plan to learn the African songs. This does not seem in line with Sonlight's usual pattern of emphasis on exploring other cultures, but perhaps the curriculum writers were just taking their cues from the book.

We love this! The songs are somewhat corny, but that actually makes them stick better. We give this two thumbs up!

Have to say that this was actually a disapointment for our family as the songs seem rushed , as in the words are almost squeezed into the musical measures at times so it comes off as more of a turn off and did not engage our pre-teen sons at all. Since we are now starting to homeschool our 5 year old we might try it again, but not really expecting much. May try the Board Game instead as mentioned by a fellow Sonlighter.

Our whole family loved this and still do!! Very often one of my boys still breaks out in one of the songs...wonderful way to learn geography!

My 7yo says, "Very fun and effortless way of learning Geography".
My 9yo says, "The CD was really fun and I loved colouring in the maps in the workbook"

I've already learned more than I ever knew about our world not to mention how much my second grader has! All of our friends and family are very impressed. The great news is that six months later she remembers all she learned!

We absolutely love this cd and workbook. My boys think that it is fun to sing and memorizes these songs and countries. I am learning right along with them too.

Wonderful! This is always a highlight during our day and my daughter will often play it during dinner for my husband. This has been an adult weakness for me that will be remedied this year, and oh so easily!
