Core 7 continues the wonderful journey through world history that you began in Core 6. By the time you complete this program, you'll have a solid working knowledge of what happened in history from the 17th century to about 1990.
Core 7 covers the same general ground as Core 2, but explores the subject matter in far greater depth. Wise Bauer's Story of the World, Vols. 3-4 provide the narrative foundation to the program.
Core 7 also employs two Genevieve Foster titles, George Washington's World and Abraham Lincoln's World. These two books give you a 360-degree view of the worlds in which these two great leaders lived, and includes biographies of many key historical figures.
But the history portion of Core 7 is just the beginning of the fascinating journey you're about to embark upon. Masterful works like Great Expectations, Number the Stars, and The Sherwood Ring, plus almost a dozen others, will bring past eras to life. Your children will also enjoy Readers such as The Broken Blade, Anna and the King, and The Ghost in the Tokaido Inn. With such a variety of great books at their fingertips, your children will have a hard time not reading ahead.
To help establish the spiritual maturity we so ardently desire to see in students, we've included a number of "prepratory" books in our Bible program, including Gerali's challenging How to Stay a Christian in High School. Don't let your children miss this important book!
The Core 7 package also includes the Language Arts program (normally sold separately), though the Language Arts portion does not include a grammar program. You may want to check out Wordly Wise 3000 Book 7 and its optional schedule if you'd like to continue studying grammar. The schedule, notes, assignments and instructions for Level 7 Language Arts will be included in the Core Instructor's Guide.
Estimated time requirement on either the Four or Five-Day/36-week schedule for a single student studying all subjects, including the Core Program, Science, Math, and Language Arts: Child: 4 - 6 hrs/day; Parent: 2 - 3½ hrs/day direct involvement, availability for remainder of time.
