I have used Singapore Math from the very beginning of our homeschooling experience. Although I've always been good at math, I enjoyed getting better at "mental math" as I helped my son. Solving problems without algebra was sometimes a little tricky for me in the beginning, but my son caught on quickly. I didn't think I would learn anything from primary math, but I certainly did and my son is ahead of his school friends by a bunch. I love Singapore Math

I must preface my review with the fact that I am an engineer and have a great understanding of math. I have loved the Singapore Math. This is my first year to home school and it is much more logical in its approach than the math I saw in the public school curriculum. My son has learned how to think through story problems in a basic format. In addition, he has been able to add complexity as the unit develops and gets more difficult. When he gets to Alegebra, the story problems will be much easier since he was taught how to think through the problems without using Algebra. Lastly, he has finally learned the basic geometry that the school system could not seem to teach him. I plan to continue with Singapore next year as well.
