4 out of 5 stars by ELIZABETH B on 2010-01-07
Phoebe the Spy is about a little girl who is free from slavery and is undercover trying to find out who will kill the general George Washington. Her dad tells her to go work at his house so she can find out the mystery. Along the way she meets a couple of people. Those people are very nice to her but there’s big surprise in the middle of the book. This book is one of my favorites because it’s very exciting and makes you curious throughout the book. When you start the book you don’t want to put it down. To find out who will kill the general read this book. From her student Gray

I like Phoebe the Spy, written by Judith B. Griffin, because it tells us that girls can do big things too. It also tells about having courage. The book tells us that you need courage to do big things. This book is also interesting and touching. It gives you a feel for what life was like back in the late 1700's. Mikala M.-Korea
